ANYONE experiencing dizziness or falls resulting from: BPPV (Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo), Car and Motion sickness, or other balance related ailments. Often not identifiable by the person, the family will often notice that an elderly member may be having balance problems.  This is often not only due to a decline of balance with age, but general deconditioning.  At OBC, we complete a thorough assessment of the Vestibular System and balance system while customizing a treatment program for the individual

• Vertigo

Dizziness, Nausea, light headedness, poor balance and headaches - all Associated with the feelings of Vertigo.  Often these feelings occur very suddenly and if treated quickly can disappear just as quickly.  Early treatment is essential to ensure that these symptoms don't persist longer than needed.  Treatment includes an assessment of visual tracking, various vestibular reflex tests and examining the integrity of the vestibular system itself.  It is very important that an individualized treatment plan be completed to ensure proper progression and alleviation of symptoms.

• Acute and chronic balance disturbances

Poor balance due to ageing, deconditioning, vertigo, or other causes such as Multiple Sclerosis, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's disease can be effectively treated and balance improved.  Often it will be family or friends that notice there is a problem and initiate a referral for  Care.  Again, we evaluate both static and dynamic balances, strength, and endurance and produce an individualized treatment

program for our clients.

• Motion sickness and motion-induced nausea

Motion Sickness can often be very effectively treated, even if you have had it for years (or forever).  There are very often very basic reflexive exercises that involve the vestibular system and the visual system that can be completed to help.  Gaze stability is very important when treating motion sickness and clients are very often surprised at how quickly we can help.
